We are proud to be a part of a national coalition to Save Service in America. In 2011, we successfully petitioned law makers to protect national and state-based programs like AmeriCorps that provide vital volunteer services to programs like Coaching Corps, Playworks and Teach for America.
We sent faxes, letters and visited the offices of our representatives while helping our community speak out about why volunteers matter.
We placed a Letter to the Editor in the San Francisco Chronicle making our case.
Of course, the fight is not over yet. As Congress continues to struggle with the budget, service may once again be placed on the chopping block.
That’s why we’re asking our supporters to join us in writing to your representatives and urge them to Save Service in America.
