Sports have a powerful influence on kids. But in low-income neighborhoods, girls and boys don’t have many opportunities to play. This means they are not getting the many benefits that sports provide. Nearby after-school programs are working hard to put together sports activities for low-income kids, but they urgently need great coaches. That’s where you come in.

Coaching Corps volunteers are an elite group of students committed to changing the world one game at a time.

All you need is to want to make a difference in the lives of kids.

No experience is necessary. Before you ever step foot on the field, we will guide you through a a dynamic 4-hour training. Additionally, throughout the season, you will have access to webinars, curriculum and Regional Program Coordinators to ensure your Coaching Corps experience is a great one. We teach volunteers how to plan a practice, promote good behavior and build a team.

Once you are trained, we will match you with one of our after-school programs working to bring sports experiences  to underserved girls and boys. Our coaches have coached a wide array of sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball and even Dragon Boat Racing!

Coaches mostly serve during after school hours  and sometimes during weekends for games and tournaments. We ask our volunteers to commit to at least one season for between 1-4 hours per week.
